Dave Arneson's True Genius Cover FINISHED!

This is a highly reduced resolution JPEG of the cover for Dave Arneson's True Genius that my wife, Nathalie (with some specific help from myself on the graphics end, i.e., the concept lettering for the blackboard), finished today.  Nathalie is very excellent at layout (and many other things, she always surprises)!

Nat has proceeded to laying out the text.  Meanwhile I am plugging away on 2 maps for 2 separate adventures as well as laying out TLS's first PDF product!

We are getting excited here!  I hope you are too!

Enjoy!

  3. Yes, it's a beauty isn't it? You can see Arneson's bright, "Hey, I know what's going on," right there. All together now! :)

    1. Thanks for the many compliments. I've passed them along to my wife. I'm repeating myself but all of us, and all of our many associates, are very pleased and excited about its imminent release!

  9. Hey Michael! We're running a pretty good Holiday Sale right now, so if you can muster enough gold pieces now's the time to get the DVD and the Sunken City adventure! Either way, enjoy them when the time arrives.

    1. I took advantage of the sale, thanks to some Christmas money given early by my dear grandmother (94). She was an unwitting catalyst in my gaming hobby, as she watched my brother and I play B/X D&D for the 1st time by ourselves at her house, where we were staying while our parents were away. She not only complimented my brother for his problem solving skills and me for my administration, she then told our parents how wonderful the game was for us. I thanked her when we visited her last week. :-)

    2. That's one heck of a positive story, Michael! It should be included an educational value of D&D in any book treating with the matter. ;)

  10. Are there many from the original St. Thomas play test group around for additional source material? (Just curious)

  11. Glenn: The original MMSA members are thinning these days what with the recent death of Duane Jenkins. The book did not require going back to personal interviews as I have a conduit of information already many years established and, as noted, the work is an examination of what Arneson created--and then tested. There's some history involved, but that figures into why what he created was later changed, and as I note in passing with the back cover matter. Thanks for asking.
